Novemer 2016. First national meeting of energy managers Print

sov_energom1The event was held on November 22 at the UN house in the heart of Moscow. The Conference brought together representatives from different parts of Russia: Belgorod, Arkhangelsk, Vologda, Moscow and Vologda regions.

 

sov_energom2As you know, a roadmap was prepared by the order of the RF Ministry of Energy FSBI "REA" for the distribution of the EMIS throughout Russia. Therefore, the aim of the event was the signing of the Memorandum on intentions of regions to participate in the dissemination of best practices of the Pskov region, where the urban energy management system has been functioned for almost a year, to other regions of our country.

 

The UNDP Regional Technical Advisor on climate change mitigation, John O'Brien welcomed the audience. John noted the progress of the Project over the past year and a half. "Initially, the project document was not supposed to spread the EMIS, but realizing the relevance in this area of work, the management has made a huge step in the right direction. It is heartening to see in this room so many representatives from interested regions" - John noted in his speech.

 

sov_energom3 The specialists of the UNDP-GEF Project "Building energy efficiency in the North-West Russia" also made their presentations. They showed the features and benefits on the implementation of the municipal energy management system. Andrey Klimenkov presented his detailed report on the technical features of the organization of data collection for the EMIS. The meeting's participants also had an opportunity to meet and ask questions the first Russian regional energy Manager, Anna Krasnova. Anna spoke about the challenges faced in the Pskov region, because it is always difficult to be the first, and how these difficulties were overcame. The first regional energy Manager also shared plans for improvement of the EMIS, taking into account the Russian conditions and needs.

 

In turn, recently hired national energy Manager Andrey Martynychev, expressed the hope that by the end of 2017, Moscow will collect representatives from most regions of our great country. And the Memorandum, signed at the end of the meeting, is only the beginning of a long journey.
