Workbook for elementary school students "How to save electricity at home" Print

The problem of energy savings in the Russian Federation is especially relevant today, not only because of the environmental degradation (pollution of environment: the growth of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere, strengthening the greenhouse effect, etc.), but also for economic and technological reasons : non-renewable natural energy resources are being depleted, and the energy consumption of the population and enterprises in various sectors of the economy is increasing, which is why a rational approach to the use of energy in industry and at home is required.

It should be noted that experience in economic energy resource expenditure is not a norm for the population of Russia. In this regard, there was an urgent need for the formation of a careful attitude towards energy consumption, starting with preschool and younger school age.

The primary school age is an especially favorable time for cultivating a prudent and careful attitude to energy consumption at home. Within the course, special attention is given to game technologies that will promote the formation of an "energy saving" behavior of the younger school students at home and school.

The Project released a workbook for elementary school students "How to save electricity at home?" to use in the educational process in pilot schools.

The Program "How to save electricity at home?" is designed for implementation in the 2nd-4th grades of primary school. It is a practice–oriented course which gives basic knowledge about energy, its role in human life, rules and methods of its conservation, and the environmental problems associated with energy consumption.

The course content is focused on the demonstration of the independent action of school students, which helps to save energy resources, reduce the load on the environment, and preserve nature for future generations.

In addition, the course develops a motivation among its students to promote an economical use of electric power. Overall, the course has a humanistic, personality-oriented direction which teaches children of primary school age the bases of ecological culture, careful attitude to nature, moral culture, and the formation of experience of reasonable energy saving behavior at home and the environment.
