|The 11th session of the joint educational programme by UNESCO/ISEDC was successfully accomplished in Moscow|
According to tradition, under the support of the UNDP-GEF Project specialists, in Moscow took a place an international educational programme by UNESCO/ISEDC for the specialists from the developing countries. This year the training course, started on the October,02 in Moscow, was completely dedicated to the energy efficiency and sustainable energy development issues.
"Issues, related to the energy efficient and energy saving technologies, are one of the most important for UNESCO, as well as for the ISEDC. Therefore, the training course of the 11th educational programme we would like to dedicate to the energy management topic, in particular to the municipal and industrial energy management systems" – was mentioned within the speech by the head of the ISEDC educational department Alexander Antonov..
In the frames of the educational course the main attention was paid to the such issues, like energy saving and energy efficiency in the municipal and industrial buildings, maintaining if the efficient resource management processes, development and use of the renewable energy resources, development of the cutting-edge energy technologies and international cooperation in this sphere.
Due to the media coverage of the educational programme among the UNESCO participating states, consequently almost 190 specialists from more, than 86 countries applied to the programme. It was students, postgraduate, engineers, ecologists, specialists of the utility companies, city administration representatives, scientists and lecturers. Finally, the 20 CV`s of the best applicants from Asia, Africa, Latin America, Oceania, Eastern Europe and CIS have been chosen by the organizers. Within the 2nd educational week the issues, related to the municipal and industrial energy management were explained to the students in detail. The main lecturers were UNDP-GEF Project`s experts Vitaly Bekker and Andrey Dodonov.
The core idea of the entire course, conducted by the Project experts, was to highlight the current situation in the field of modern energy efficiency and energy saving technologies market, as well as ecology management and existing city energy management systems, including the practical steps of its implementation. Within the practical part of the training course, participants could apply their knowledge in order to determine the list of the energy efficient measures for the several institutions as well as for the further calculations of the possible effects after its implementation. Moreover, participants of the 11th educational course assessed the economic efficiency of the several energy resources, forecasted the problem solving by the energy efficient technologies implementation.
During the entire week UNDP-GEF Project`s experts did their best to maintain the friendly atmosphere, provided and at the same time the high-quality experience-sharing by the team working.
The 3rd educational week was started for the 20 energy managers with the interactive game «The light Empire». Andrey Kulakov, the author and the patent-owner of this game, explained to the participants its main rules. According to the rules, players were divided into the 2 teams, each of which after the preparation and discussion presented their own development plan in the Russian regional energy sector. The key target was to place in the correct order solar and hydro power plants, as well as hear power and nuclear power plants on the country map in order to provide energy for the particular region, considering the existing budget. As a result of investigations and calculations, players proved, that their knowledge, received within the 2 study weeks were extremely useful.
We also should mention, that the key outcome of this programme was the international experience- and knowledge-sharing and skills upgrade for specialists in the field of energy efficiency and energy saving alike.
