|Energy efficient modernization of Health Clynic in Vologda: illustrative example of savings|
Vologda City Health Clynic №3 is the largest health care institution with more than 45-year history. However, the building of the outpatient Department has not been renovated since the building date, and thus the upcoming winter frosts forced the staff of the institution to be fully prepared in advance, because the old wooden windows easily could let the cold enter to the treatment rooms.
"You should have seen the emotions on the faces of our doctors, when on December 28, last year, ahead of the 35-degree cold new windows were installed in the clinic with the help of the UNDP-GEF Project" - Nikolay Sokolov, Chief Physician of the Vologda city Health Clynic №3, the honored doctor of the Russian Federation shares his memories. "We could not think that it can be so comfortable in the premises at such a low environment temperature," - Nikolay Vladimirovich said.
Capital repairs with the use of energy saving technologies with the support of the UNDP-GEF Project "Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia" will be completed this summer.
Today, all windows are replaced with modern energy-efficient, the facade is insulated with mineral wool, led lights are installed and the front doors of vestibule are replaced. According to Chief Physicianof the Clynic, savings after energy-efficient modernization of the building is already visible in monetary terms. All the savings will be remained on the balance of budgetary institutions and will be used to purchase new medical equipment and medicines with the aim of improving the quality of care.
