With the expectation of an introductory working visit to Russia, heads of the key UNDP-GEF projects for energy efficiency told the guests about the results of the positive implementation experience in Russia, and the difficult moments and "pitfalls" that the delegates could face in their countries. Along with presentations on the projects "Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia," "Standards and labels for promoting energy efficiency in the Russian Federation," and "Transforming the market for efficient lighting in Russia," the invited experts (representatives of the Russian Federation Ministry of Construction, Housing and Public Utilities Reformation Support Fund, the Russian Association of Energy Service Companies (RAESCO)) also delivered deep and interesting messages.
The bright messages of the delegates was a particular highlight of the meeting. Representatives of Kazakhstan, Armenia, and Turkmenistan shared expectations from the upcoming visit and the most pressing challenges that face energy-efficient economies of their countries.
The main purpose of the visit from the CIS colleagues was to learn about the experience of establishing urban management systems. Because of this, the delegation will now go from Moscow to a pilot city, Pskov, and in Porkhov, specialists will be able to see the technical solutions applied during the construction of the new municipal house. In conclusion of the study tour, the system of continuous education in the field of energy savings in the central city of the North-West region, Saint-Petersburg, will be presented to the participants.
