Grant training course on energy management for foreign professionals is in full swing

Chile, Mexico, Jamaica, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Montenegro and the distant Islands of Cape Verde – the land of Pskov has not met such a delegation for a long time. Young professionals from 9 countries came to Russia to study energy management in theory and practice.

Last year the delegation of the UNDP-GEF Project "Building energy efficiency in the North-West of Russia" participated in a study tour to get acquainted with the best practices of UNDP Croatia on the establishment of a municipal energy management system, which has been successfully operated on the territory of the Republic for several years. For Russia the creation of such a system is a novelty, although the relevance of this topic is obvious – the EMIS will help municipal administrations not only to receive data on energy flows in a public sector, but to control permanently, regulate, and the most important– to respond quickly to various contingencies and manage the process of consumption, meanwhile saving budget.
A global campaign started to implement an energy management system ISO 50001

Russia supported the initiative of the Global Campaign for the introduction of an energy management system according to ISO 50001 standard, which started during of the 7th meeting of Clean energy Ministerial, held in San Francisco.
The experience of Russian-Croatian cooperation on the establishment of an energy management information system was presented in a forum in Bulgaria

The 2016 will be an important year in the field of energy saving for Europe and countries of the Balkan region. At the moment active work is being performed on the revision of the European Directive of EPBD in the field of building energy efficiency, national roadmaps in the field of energy efficiency since 2017 are being updated. Implementation of existing programs to achieve the targets by 2020 (energy savings, development of import substitution, reduction of CO2 emissions) needs to be accelerated.
